Support Guy's Cancer

A word from Roger, Amanda and Majid

Our new Cancer Centre at Guy’s Hospital is now open and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has made this happen.

An amazing £6m was donated by philanthropists, and more than 3,000 generous patients, families, supporters and staff have together raised an incredible £1.1m – by donating, running, cycling, climbing, abseiling, baking and dancing – to make the Cancer Centre a reality.

Dr Majid Kazmi (Clinical Director, Guy's Cancer), Consultant Nurse Amanda Shrewbridge, and former patient Roger Lang discuss how the new Centre is better for patients and why we need further support to continue funding exceptional cancer care and research.

Former patient Roger Lang explains what he went through when he was first diagnosed with Cancer...
... he goes onto explain what treatment for his condition was like before he discovered the new Cancer Centre at Guy's Hospital.
Consultant Nurse Amanda Shrewbridge outlines why the Centre is so special and how patients benefit from most of the services being accessible in one place.
Dr Majid Kazmi talks about the new Cancer Centre, and how it treats patients on both a local and global scale, while reaffirming the need for further investment and support.
A final word from Roger explaining how the Centre still needs investment to ensure it stays on top of its game.
Dr Majid Kazmi talks about the Innovation Hub, outlining the importance of bringing together the best scientific minds with the best clinical minds to greatly improve treatment all round.
Amanda makes a personal plea for more support so staff in the Centre can take treatment and care to the next level.
