The Cancer Centre at Guy's

The Cancer Centre at Guy’s has been open since 2016, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who made this happen.

An amazing £6m has been donated by philanthropists, and more than 3,000 generous patients, families, supporters and staff members have together raised an incredible £1.1million – by donating, running, cycling, climbing, abseiling, baking and dancing – to make the Cancer Centre a reality.

It brings together most of the treatment in the same building; previously cancer care was provided in 13 different locations in eight different buildings on Guy's and St Thomas' sites.

It is the first cancer centre in Europe to provide radiotherapy treatment above ground level after patients said this would make a huge difference to them, as previously they would have received treatment underground, in basements, where there was a lack of natural light.

The Cancer Centre also brings together treatment and research in an Innovation Hub. We want every patient, should they wish to, to take part in clinical trials that could speed up our search for better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for cancer.

You can continue to support the work we do in the Cancer Centre, and across Guy’s and St Thomas’, by either making a donation below or by fundraising for us, either taking part in an event or doing your own fundraising.
