Sisters support the Cancer Centre for Dad

10.11.17 Categories: Supporter stories,

Rosh Mulvany completed the Cancer Centre Abseil on Saturday 5 June 2016, raising £450 for the Cancer Centre at Guy's.

Rosh has been a long-time supporter of the Cancer Centre after her Dad was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2014. He has been receiving treatment at Guy's and St Thomas'. The condition is not curable but is treatable, and Kirstie's dad has had chemotherapy and radiotherapy to manage the condition.

Kirstie and her sister Rosh fundraised for the Cancer Centre at Guy's by encouraging people to 'snap their dad' on Father's Day: posting a selfie with their dad on social media along with the text donate number to encourage others to donate.

‘We decided to fundraise for Guy's as the staff at Guy's have been fantastic,' says Kirstie.

'They deal with cancer, and those it affects, day in and day out and yet are not blasé about it. They show true compassion and treat their patients and their families like people, not hospital numbers and take on board any concerns they have. They know their patient; they know their name, they know their history and most of all they listen.
