Super-fit Protiviti team take on Three Peaks challenge for Guy's Cancer

26.03.18 Categories: Supporter stories,

From the tallest hospital building in Europe to the tallest peaks in the UK, Protiviti is taking on its next challenge to support Guy’s Cancer.

Global consultancy firm Protiviti has raised over £10,000 in the past two years for Guy’s Cancer by entering Guy’s Urban Challenge - our very own ‘urban triathlon’ event where participants climb Guy’s Tower, the tallest hospital building in Europe.

This year the super-energetic team is pushing fundraising to the next level by taking on the tallest peaks in the UK with the Three Peaks Challenge.

Three peaks in 24 hours!

This challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours! The peaks are: Ben Nevis in Scotland (1345m), Scafell Pike in England (978m) and Snowdon in Wales (1085m).

This involves 23 gruelling miles of walking in daylight and at night, ascending over 10,000ft, while driving 462 miles all in one day.

For many of the team this will be the biggest physical and mental test they have ever undertaken.

Neil  Pearson, one of the managers at the firm, explains: 'Protiviti is keen to continue to support Guy's and St Thomas's throughout 2018. For two years running, Protiviti staff have taken part in Guy’s Urban Challenge in aid of the Cancer Centre at Guy's, which neighbours our London office. The event brings communities together to support something which is close to many people's hearts.

'By taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge, the Protiviti team wants to demonstrate that they are willing to go that bit further to help the Cancer Centre at Guy's to buy state-of-the-art equipment and provide the best possible support to patients and their families.'

We’re exceptionally grateful for Protiviti’s excellent fundraising efforts over the past two years and are proud to support them on their next adventure.
